| Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon’s Pre-Baby Pampering Posted: 01 May 2011 11:20 AM PDT  Just before welcoming baby twins into the world, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon readied for the delivery process by living the life of luxury in Palos Verdes, California. The happy couple lodged up at The Terranea Resort, where they were pampered by the exclusive getaway's staff before leaving the locale to head to the hospital on Friday (April 29). With everything going as well as could be hoped for, Miss Carey gave birth to a healthy boy and girl on Saturday - as her rep, Cindi Berger, told People, "I spoke to both of them and they are both completely overjoyed." Meanwhile, Cannon took to Twitter hours after his son and daughter's arrival, as the new father excitedly wrote, "My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life!" Not seeing a way to dote a present of the same stature on his lady, Nick jokingly added, "I won't ever be able to top this!" |
| "Fast Five" Cruises to Box Office Glory Posted: 01 May 2011 09:26 AM PDT  Speeding away from the pack, "Fast Five" easily took hold of the top spot at the box office on Friday (April 29) and never looked back. The Vin Diesel/Jordana Brewster lead action flick cranked out $34.4 million in earnings on opening day en route to an approximate weekend take of $83.6 million. With a huge dropoff between first and second place films, the runner-up turned out to be the Anne Hathaway bird-based animated picture "Rio" - which pulled in $14.4 million in its third week of release. Rounding out the top five were Tyler Perry's "Madea's Big Happy Family" ($10 million), "Water For Elephant ($9.1 million) and the Disney picture "Prom" - which failed to meet expectations by garnering an estimated $5 million during its first three days in theaters. | Barack Obama Takes Aim at Donald Trump Posted: 01 May 2011 09:06 AM PDT  He's been firing jabs ever since showing interest in a possible presidential run, but Donald Trump found himself on the receiving end at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night (April 30). The United States Commander-In-Chief Barack Obama offered up numerous laugh-inducing moments throughout the evening, at one point saying that - with the birth certificate debate behind him - Trump can "finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter.…like where are Biggie and Tupac." President Obama also mockingly said that he's sure that Trump would "bring change to the White House," at thge same time bringing up a picture of a mde-over White House adorned with casino-esque neon lights. Chiming in on the mockery, comedic entertainer Seth Meyers continued the roasting by saying, "Donald Trump has been saying that he will run for president as a Republican, which is surprising,.,, Because I just assumed he was running as a joke." The following morning, Trump took to FOX News to discuss the Correspondents Dinner happenings, during which time he was asked, "Were you upset about those remarks or were you having a good time.... it was hard to tell?" To this, the real estate mogual replied, "Well, I really understood what I was getting into. I didn't know that I would be virtually the sole focus. I guess when you're leading in most of the polls that's what happens." |

The "Hot N Cold" singer eased through the Crown Palladium entrance while clad in an emerald green dress featuring the backside of a grey and black nude woman running down the center of the interesting frock. Talking to press covering the Land Down Under celebration, Miss Perry enthusiastically told, "I love being in Australia - I really wanted to play something special tonight. Joining in on the fun, Scottish stud Gerard Butler was joined by a guy pal as he headed inside the Broadway venue to take in the stage show "The Book Of Mormom". Meanwhile, pregnant and engaged actress Kate Hudson showed of her baby bump as she hit up the Big Apple production with Leonardo DiCaprio also making an appearance. As for the theatrical effort, "The Book of Mormon" is a story about "two young Mormon missionaries who travel to a dangerous part of Uganda to spread the word about their religion." |

Held at the Washington Hilton, "Gossip Girl" hunk Chace Crawford roamed the posh locale while joined by sister Candice and her NFL star fiance Tony Romo. Also joining in on the festivities were lovely actress Mila Kunis, "Glee" star Matthew Morrison, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" actress Cheryl Hines and famous daughter, Bristol Palin. With Seth Meyers leading the audience through the evening agenda, the comedic actor said prior to the dinner cocktail party's kickoff, "It may be a tough room. But as someone who follows politics, I think it's really exciting to go into a room where people are incredibly well-informed." Meyers added, "You can probably make jokes about the minutiae of politics that wouldn't work on Saturday Night Live." |

Posted: 30 Apr 2011 02:09 PM PDT Following a false alarm earlier this month, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon spent their 3rd wedding anniversary welcoming two new additions to the family. The "Glitter" star and her man are now officially proud parents of a healthy baby boy and girl - giving birth on Saturday (April 30) at 12:07PM ET in Los Angeles.. Miss Carey's rep, Cindi Berger, confirmed the baby news by telling the AP the the couple's daughter weighed in at 5 lbs., 3 oz., while her brother followed suit at 5 lbs. 6 oz. Impressively predicting the possible anniversary twin arrival, Nick previously told press, "I'm not trying to be a psychic, but we renew our vows every year so ... It's probably going to be in the hospital this year. I can feel it. We got the minister coming in, so this gown will not be a wedding gown, but a hospital gown." Meanwhile, Miss Berger told following the babies' arrival, "I spoke to both of them and they are both completely overjoyed." |
