Adam Levine Covers Out’s September Issue

Posted: 15 Aug 2011 12:20 PM PDT

Showing off his undeniably hunky looks for the world to see, Adam Levine adorns the cover of the September 2011 issue of Out magazine.

The Maroon 5 frontman and coach from "The Voice" posed for a shirtless spread while chatting about personal topics including his brother's sexuality and those averse to the gay population.

Highlights from Adam's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to visit Out!

On his brother, who happens to be gay: "I can single-handedly dispel any ideas that sexuality is acquired. Trust me, you're born with it. My brother is gay, and we knew when he was two. We all really wanted to provide some cushion for him and constantly let him know that it's OK."

On the tendency for reality TV to discourage openly gay contestants from being themselves: "What's always pissed me off about Idol is wanting to mask that, for that to go unspoken…C'mon. You can't be publicly gay? At this point? On a singing competition? Give me a break. You can't hide basic components of these people's lives. The fact that The Voice didn't have any qualms about being completely about it is a great thing."

On the sad situation of parents who try to push their children away from being gay: "A lot of people don't want their kid to be gay and will fight it all costs, but I've got news for you - it's a losing f—ing battle. You've got to embrace it from the beginning. That's the only way to deal with it as a family. Otherwise you're just screwing yourself over, and you're going to make your kid miserable."

Posted: 15 Aug 2011 11:33 AM PDT

In wake of Saturday's (August 13) devastating stage collapse, Sugarland has opened voiced their thoughts and feelings - as well as their prayers of hope - for those affected by the tragedy.

The accident, which has left five people dead and dozens injured, happened just as the band was readying to take the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand stage at the Indiana State Fair, as high winds apparently caused the apparatus to give way.

While a memorial is to take place on the fairgrounds today (August 15), Sugarland frontwoman Jennifer Nettles has offered up her own heart-filled tribute to those affected by the horrific event.

Taking to the band's website, Nettles wrote, "I am so moved. Moved by the grief of those families who lost loved ones. Moved by the pain of those who were injured and the fear of their families. Moved by the great heroism as I watched so many brave Indianapolis fans actually run toward the stage to try and help lift and rescue those injured. Moved by the quickness and organization of the emergency workers who set up the triage and tended to the injured."

Jennifer continued, "There are no words to process a moment of this magnitude and gravity. There are only prayers for peace in the hearts of the bereft, and prayers of thanksgiving for those who were spared or safe. A piece of our heart is left in that grandstand. May God provide peace and healing to the people of Indianapolis."

She later added, "We wish to pass along our most sincere thanks for the messages of love, prayer and support from our fan family. We'll post any further updates here as they become available."
