"Contagion" Ousts "The Help" and Beats Up On "Warrior"

With a new film taking over the top spot for the first time in the past month, "Contagion" is on track to triumph at the box office over the weekend of September 9-11, 2011.

The star-studded Steven Soderbergh directed sci-fi thriller rang up just over $8 million in ticket sales on opening day while on pace towards a $22 million opening weekend.

Knocked from its multi-week box office leading perch for the first time since debuting on August 10, the Emma Stone starring book-based movie "The Help" pulled in $2.7 million on Friday while on track to score a weekend total of approximately $9 million.

Rounding out the top five at the box office in estimated weekend totals are Tom Hardy's fighter film "The Warrior" ($6 million), followed by fourth and fifth place finishers "The Debt ($4.5 million) and "Colombiana" ($4 million).

Nicki Minaj’s Colorful Prabal Gurung Catwalk Outing

Kicking off the weekend with a runway outing, Nicki Minaj was in attendance for the Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City on Saturday (September 10).

The "Pink Friday" hitmaker added a little color to the front row as she sat alongside model Elettra Wiedemann while taking in the latest looks at the IAC Building venue.

Taking to Twitter to post about the show, Miss Minaj wrote, "Ok so the new Prabal Gurung collection is to die for. Just left his fashion show. Gagging. My lovely date John Demsey of MAC was adorable!"

Mr Gurung recently voiced his thoughts on having the catwalk displays see their pictures hit the web almost immediately - with critics around the globe able to comment on the runway outfits.

"No matter what happens with social media and everything, it's still runway shows twice a year," Prabal said. "It's still the strongest possible way of telling your story and putting across your brand message entirely."

The outing comes just after Summit Entertainment has released a new teaser trailer for "Breaking Dawn: Part 1" - with the sixteen second clip showing a glimpse of the much-talked about birthing scene.

The latest installment in the hit vampire saga also stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz and Dakota Fanning while set to hit theaters on November 18th.

Rihanna Ventures Out for a New Big Apple Photo Shoot

Located in the Big Apple during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week happenings, Rihanna stepped out of her hotel in New York City on Saturday morning (September 10).

Looking hot in a black long sleeve shirt, leather pants and checkered heels, the 23-year-old Grammy Award winning singer passed by paparazzi while reportedly en route to a new photo shoot session.

Certainly a fan favorite when it comes to her musical efforts, RiRi was recently nominated for three BET Hip Hop Awards.

In the running for trophies including Best Hip Hop Video for "Love The Way You Lie" and Verizon People's Champ Award for "All Of The Lights," the show will air live on Tuesday, October 11 at 8P/7C on BET.

Beginning their weekend with a runway display, Emma Roberts joined Jaime King at The Stage at Lincoln Center on Saturday morning (September 10).

The two lovely ladies sat front row as they chatted amongst one another throughout the Jill Stuart Spring 2012 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Not the only celebrities on hand for the Jill Stuart collection debut, other names making appearances at the weekend display included Kim and Kourtney Kardashian's men, Kris Humphries and Scott Disick.

As for Miss Stuart's latest line, the famous designer recently told WSJ, "Spring takes its direction from vivid sorbet colors, painterly graphics, softened structure, and subtle texture."

Joining in on the commemorative efforts related to the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, Kim Kardashian and husband Kris Humphries partook in a photoshoot in New York City on Friday (September 9).

The newlyweds took to the Financial District locale while dressed in glamorous garb, with Kim and Kris paying no mind to the fact that the Big Apple was on high-alert due to a reported terrorist plot.

During the sighting, the normally publicity-loving Kardashian seemingly was hoping to avoid any pictures - as her handlers attempted to block photographers from taking pictures.

While it's expected that the couple's shoot will be unveiled tomorrow during the 9/11 remembrance efforts - there's been no official word on when the photos will find release.

Fitting in a visit to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in between her "Glee" filming duties, Lea Michele was on-hand at Center 548 in New York City on Friday (September 9).

The Rachel Berry babe was all smiles as she made her way inside the venue to grab a primo front row seat at the Jason Wu Spring 2012 fashion show.

Clearly impressed by what she saw, Miss Michele tweeted upon show's end, "Omg just left Jason Wu's show.. AMAZING!!! What a gorgeous collection!!!"

Afterwards, Lea headed to The Lortel Theater to join up with pals Jonathan Groff and Remy Zaken as she caught a showing of the MCC Theater production 'The Submisson'.

Taking center stage at the annual cinema showcase, Megan Fox looked radiant in red at the "Friends With Kids" premiere during the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival on Friday evening (September 9).

Held at Ryerson Theatre, the former "Transformers" beauty was joined by boyfriend Brian Austin Green and catmates Jon Hamm, Jennifer Westfeldt and Adam Scott during the red carpet efforts.

As for the movie, "Friends With Kids" is a comedy set to be released sometime in early 2012 while telling the story of "a pair of thirty-something best friends who begin to notice the toll that having kids has taken on the couples they know."

Freida Pinto & Dev Patel Take "Trishna" to TIFF

Stepping out to premiere her new movie, Freida Pinto took "Trishna" to the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada on Friday night (September 9).

Joined by her "Slumdog Millionaire" co-star beau Dev Patel, the couple worked the red carpet at Princess of Wales prior to the evening screening.

As for the Michael Winterbottom directed movie, "Trishna" tells "the story of the tragic relationship between the son of a property developer and the daughter of an auto rickshaw owner."

After the premiere, Freida and Dev also paid a visit to the BlackBerry Inside Film Lounge at Brassaii before closing out their TIFF festivities.
