After being arrested in front of the White House yesterday afternoon (August 30), Daryl Hannah has shared the reason behind her latest environmental cause turned run-in with the law.

The "Splash" actress is taking a stand against a planned oil pipeline from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast.

She told Canada's CTV network, "I want to add my body and my voice to the thousands of others who are laying themselves on the line and saying, 'No, we do not want to be party to this incredibly destructive path.'"

The 50-year-old added, "We're becoming more dependent on fossil fuels and now we're becoming dependent on the most dirty of the fossil fuels, which is the tarsands fuel."

Hannah also revealed that her fellow protesters are calling for clean energy investments and pushing President Barack Obama not to give in to oil lobbyists who are in favor of the pipeline project.

The "Splash" actress was spotted outside the White House in Washington DC speaking against the still-unbuilt Keystone XL Oil Pipeline along with dozens of other demonstrators.

And after being asked three times to move by the Park Police, Daryl was placed under arrest and taken into police custody.

Prior to her incarceration, Hannah told press, ''Sometimes it's necessary to sacrifice your freedom for a greater freedom. And we want to be free from the horrible death and destruction that fossil fuels cause, and have a clean energy future.''

Demi Lovato: "I’m Happy and Healthy!"

After suffering through and recovering from a serious eating disorder, Demi Lovato strutted her stuff at last night's MTV VMAs, but sadly had to deal with some hurtful tweets regarding her weight.

The "Sonny with a Chance" star was being ridiculed by haters for gaining a couple of extra pounds - to which she responded, "I've gained weight. Get over it. That's what happens when you get out of treatment for AN EATING DISORDER."

Awhile later, Ms Lovato deleted that tweet and replace it with, "Guess what, I'm healthy and happy, and if you're hating on my weight you obviously aren't."

Hopefully the negative comments weren't taken to heart, because Demi looked absolutely stunning!

Kellan Lutz’s Muscle Beach Workout

Taking his workout to the beach, Kellan Lutz was spotted out with a trainer on Muscle Beach in Venice, CA on Monday (August 29).

The "Twilight" hunk jammed to his iPod while partaking in the circuit training exercise session - making sure to take several water breaks to stay hydrated.

Branching out from the Hollywood scene, Kellan celebrated the launch of his new clothing line called Abbott & Main in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Of the new gig, Lutz told press, "I love to create. I've always wanted to get into fashion. I've always liked drawing, not Space Age stuff but high fashion."

Ditching the 2011 VMAs for the beach, the No Doubt rocker showed off her killer bod in a slinky black bikini and flowing white skirt as she perused the beautiful locale alongside her loved ones.

Meanwhile, the 41-year-old mom's personal trainer, Mike Heatlie, has dished the details about keeping Gwen in top-notch form, telling Closer magazine it's all about balance.

"You need some carbohydrates. Anybody who says you don't is wrong. I've tried eating no crabs and it's not that productive – but you should only eat them up until lunchtime."

He later added, "Gwen follows a protein-based diet with vegetables. She has lots of salmon or chicken and vegetables at lunch and dinner, while omelettes, a protein shake or porridge make good breakfast choices."

Marking their late father's special day, Michael Jackson's three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, visited the music icon's childhood home as a way to celebrate what would have been his 53rd birthday.

Traveling to Gary, Indiana to honor the pop superstar's day of birth, the trio, alongside grandfather Joe Jackson, ventured to the humble, small time abode located on the aptly named "Jackson Street."

Met with an abundance of Michael's fans upon their arrival, the children took in the house that held fond memories of the Jackson clan before they made their move to California in 1969.

Elated to see the love for their dad still so strong, 13-year-old Paris told press she was "thrilled" to witness the outpouring of support for the "Thriller" singer's legacy during the family's Saturday homecoming.

Ryan Gosling’s New "Drive" TV Trailer

Attempting to go unnoticed to no avail, Ryan Gosling was spotted at the Los Angeles International Airport over the weekend (August 27).

While exiting the terminal, the "Blue Valentine" stud sported a ballcap and shades while keeping his head lowered, but the sneaky paparazzi tracked him down and snuck some photos.

The travels come as a new TV spot for Gosling's upcoming flick "Drive" – which hits theaters September 16 - just hit the web.

The film revolves around a Hollywood stunt performer, who moonlights as a wheelman, discovers a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong.

Solange Knowles Accuses Wrong Police Dept of Racism

As a followup to a story first reported by GossipCenter, the Miami Police Department has denied claims of discrimination made by Solange Knowles.

The singing sister of Beyonce took to Twitter in the wee hours of Sunday morning (August 28) while alleging to have had a weapon drawn on her for no reason - in which she mistakenly blamed the Miami PD instead of the Miami Beach officers responsible for the incident.

With more details coming forth, Miss Knowles is said to have been turned away from entering Club Cameo in Miami Beach due to the fact that she was holding a "giant banana" - though she became angry while feeling that the refusal of entrance was due to racial reasons.

Releasing a statement exclusively to GossipCenter on the matter, Delrish L. Moss of the Miami PD told, "Over the weekend, the lion's share of the mainstream and entertainment media reported that the Miami Police Department had a confrontation with Solange Knowles, the sister of Beyonce Knowles of record and movie fame."

Moss added, "We have investigated and found that this incident DID NOT occur in our city. We have determined that Ms. Knowles was not in our city at the time of the alleged incident. That city has informed us that they are looking into the incident. This incident DID NOT involve the Miami Police Department in any way, shape, or form."

Meanwhile, Miami Beach Police are looking into the matter and currently trying to contact Solange in regards to her complaints.

The jet-setting reality television starlets were joined by Kourtney's boyfriend Scott Disick and son Mason as they headed towards the security checkpoint en route to New York City to begin filming season two of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York".

While in the Big Apple, Kim and new husband Kris Humphries will be honored at a party at Capitale on Wednesday night.

Event designer Colin Cowie says the shindig will be a "magical evening" for the couple, who got hitched earlier this month.

The music industry is still mourning the death of Amy Winehouse, and last night (August 28) the late "Rehab" songstress received a fabulous tribute at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Winehouse's close friend Russell Brandshared some sweet words with the folks at the Nokia Theatre LA Live, as well as viewers from all over the world.

"She was a mate of mine and tragically this year we lost her. First time I met her, she was kind of like a daft, dopey person, just wandering around a little bit crazy, like a lot of people who are drawn to big cities with a peculiar, unknowable talent."

Brand also noted that when he saw her sing, he was floored. "This is not just another London chancer, not just another person milling about waiting to be famous. What is this incredible sound? This timeless sound like a roar from the guts of humanity? The kind of voice that Billie Holiday sung with, the kind of voice that Ella Fitzgerald sung with."

Meanwhile, Bruno Mars took the stage with his impressive band for a rendition of Amy's cover of "Valerie."

And at the end, he got the crowd singing, "Say Amy, oh Amy/ I love you darling, I love you darling/ Say Amy, whoa Amy, we'll miss you baby."
